Job Requirements
- Design and build software components end to end, from breaking down a problem through deployment and support in production.
- Create data models and integrations across Aurora PostgreSQL and object storage, with careful attention to schema design, evolution, and backwards compatibility.
- Write production code, primarily in Python, across services, APIs, libraries, and command-line tools that are modular, well tested, and maintainable.
- Build observability in from the start through structured logging, metrics, tracing, and meaningful alerting.
Job Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including modular design, sensible abstractions, dependency management, packaging, error handling, and judgement about when not to add another layer.
- Strong relational database experience, ideally Aurora PostgreSQL, including schema design, query writing, and understanding database behaviour under the hood.
- Working knowledge of a cloud platform, ideally AWS, including S3, Lambda, containers, and IAM fundamentals.
- The ability to write clean, maintainable, testable, and extensible code. In Python, this includes type hints, ruff, mypy, black, and a strong pytest habit, or equivalent discipline in your current language.
